    Nos engagements sociétaux

    Le groupe Oliver Wyman, ainsi que toutes les entreprises de Marsh McClennan, est certifié comme une entreprise neutre en carbone® par le protocole « carbonneutral » de Climate Impact Partners CarbonNeutral Protocol. Le 31 mars 2022, Marsh McClennan a annoncé qu'elle s'engageait à atteindre le net zéro dans toutes ses activités d'ici 2050 et à réduire ses émissions de 50 % d'ici 2030.     At Oliver Wyman, a business of  Marsh McLennan, we recognize the urgent need for climate action. We are firmly committed to achieving net zero emissions across Marsh McLennan’s global operations by 2050. Our near-term targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), align with the latest climate science. Additionally, we have maintained our CarbonNeutral® status since 2020 by compensating for emissions we can’t reduce.

    To accelerate our progress, we at Oliver Wyman aim to cut air travel by 40% per full-time equivalent (FTE) by 2025, using 2019 as our baseline. We’ve also implemented an internal carbon price for air travel emissions starting in 2023 to encourage responsible travel decisions.

    In 2023, we launched the Climate Leadership Portfolio, which is dedicated to supporting carbon removal solutions in various stages of development. This Oliver Wyman initiative emphasizes colleague engagement and education about these important nature-based and engineered solutions, fostering our culture of sustainability.

    Through this initiative, we are supporting organizations that are developing and providing carbon removal solutions. Our focus is not just on financial support, but also on fostering employee education and engagement. Through a series of webinars, site visits, pro bono consulting engagements and ongoing educational initiatives, our program aims to not only support the scaling of these important solutions, but to transfer the knowledge to our clients and communities. 

    Our Climate Academy is a learning and training curriculum designed to give all consulting staff the tools they need to execute high-impact strategies for our clients through the climate transition. 

    GROW is a global community of colleagues who seek to make tangible impact by supporting Oliver Wyman’s commitment to sustainability, particularly at the local office level. Using our Actioning Net Zero online hub, featuring role-specific best practices and training, the GROW teams take the lead in engaging colleagues on our commitments and spreading the message that every job is a climate job. 

    Launched in December 2021, our philanthropic reforestation program, GROWTrees, works with nonprofits such as One Tree Planted to give our colleagues the opportunity to have a voice in supporting reforestation projects. The focus is not just on planting, but also nurturing trees over time. Combined with in-person urban tree planting efforts, the program has supported the planting and growing of more than 130,000 trees and counting.

    Additional tools are available to Oliver Wyman employees on our Actioning Net Zero hub, featuring role-specific best practices, tools and training to help the organization adapt to a more sustainable way of working. Colleagues can progress their knowledge of climate and sustainability topics on Degreed, utilize a travel carbon footprint estimator to minimize the impact of upcoming business travel, and more.

    Green Champions d'Oliver Wyman (GROW) 

    Le GrOW est une communauté mondiale de collègues qui cherchent à avoir un impact réel en soutenant l'engagement d'Oliver Wyman en matière d’écologie, notamment au niveau des bureaux locaux. Le GrOW et Oliver Wyman for Society unissent souvent leurs efforts pour parrainer des activités de bénévolat pratiques et axées sur les compétences dans le domaine de l'environnement. 

    Présentation de GROWtrees

    En décembre, nous avons annoncé notre nouveau programme de reforestation, GROWtrees. Pour célébrer le lancement du programme, nous avons fait don d'un arbre à chaque employé d'Oliver Wyman par l'intermédiaire de l'organisation à but non lucratif one tree planted. Les collègues ont voté pour planter leur arbre dans le cadre d’un des 7 projets que nous avons sélectionnés pour notre forêt mondiale, en offrant des écobénéfices qui protègent la faune, favorisent la sécurité alimentaire et de l'eau, soutiennent les communautés indigènes et améliorent la résilience climatique à long terme. Nous avons également rejoint la campagne "million mangroves" avec les Climate Impact Partners, et nous continuons à trouver des opportunités de bénévolat pour la plantation d'arbres dans nos communautés.

    The Mangrove Breakthrough
    We proudly support an international alliance of corporates and non-profits dedicated to restoring 15 million hectares of mangroves by 2030. Their roadmap to secure funding for mangrove restoration projects aligns with our commitment to nature-based carbon removal. As an early investor, we are supporting the establishment of a secretariat to secure the necessary funding and help them achieve their goals.
    Seaweed Generation
    We proudly support a UK-based blue carbon start-up using automated robots to remove toxic Sargassum, improve health, and reduce carbon. They were recognized as one of TIME's best inventions of 2023. Our support includes the development of a citizen science mobile app and the deployment of four new buoys with environmental monitoring capabilities, which are critical next steps in achieving social licensing and scaling their efforts.
    Charm Industrial
    We proudly support Charm Industrial, a climate technology company utilizing bio-oil for permanent carbon removal. They are a verified carbon removal leader, recognized by Isometric and Patch. Their bio-oil has the potential to replace fossil fuels in iron making, a process that is currently 6% of global emissions. Our support includes the purchase of premium 2021 carbon removal credits, which are in limited supply, furthering their mission of carbon removal.
    Patch
    We proudly support Patch, a platform that helps buyers select a diverse portfolio of nature and technology-based credits while providing critical funding for project developers to scale their operations. Patch has established rigorous standards that evolve scientific and regulatory standards for all solutions on their platform. Our support includes the purchase of carbon credits from Carbon Cure, a Canadian company that injects captured CO2 into concrete during mixing, contributing to carbon removal efforts.

    Pourquoi le développement durable est-il si important chez Oliver Wyman ?

    En tant que consultants qui travaillons avec des clients sur des centaines de questions liées au climat et au développement durable, il est important que nous "passions des paroles aux actes". Oliver Wyman n'a pas une empreinte carbone très grosse car nous ne fabriquons pas de produits, mais nous avons plusieurs axes à améliorer et nous nous sommes engagés à trouver des manières de travailler différemment pour réduire notre impact environnemental.

    Parlons-nous de nos mesures liées au développement durable en externe ?

    Oui, en tant qu'entreprise du groupe Marsh McLennan, nous rendons compte annuellement de nos émissions de carbone et d'autres engagements liés à l’écologie au CDP et via le rapport ESG de Marsh McLennan, qui s'aligne sur les principes TCFD, GRI et SASB. Oliver Wyman est fier d'être devenu une entreprise Neutre en Carbon® en 2020, et Marsh McLennan nous a rejoint dans cet engagement en 2022. pour parvenir à un résultat net zero sur l'ensemble de ses activités d'ici 2050 et à réduire ses émissions de 50 % d'ici 2030. L'engagement comprendra un objectif scientifique dans le cadre de l'initiative “Science Based Targets”.

    Quelle a été l'inspiration derrière GROWTrees ?

    Notre engagement envers le développement durable va au-delà de notre engagement net zéro. Par exemple, nous oeuvrons pour la Société via “Oliver Wyman for Society”,avec du conseil en impact social, du bénévolat et de la collecte de fonds, tout en incluant le "climat et le développement durable" comme pilier principal. Lorsque nous avons lancé le programme GROWTrees, notre objectif était d'offrir à nos collègues la possibilité de s'engager directement et de découvrir l'importance de la reforestation. Par exemple, les collègues peuvent faire un don pour soutenir directement notre forêt GROWTrees et planter des arbres au nom d'autres personnes, et chaque nouvelle recrue d'Oliver Wyman est accueillie avec un arbre en cadeau.

    Qui sont les Green Champions ?

    La mise en œuvre des meilleures pratiques en matière de développement durables et l'encouragement au changement de comportements nécessitent une action sur le terrain. Nos Green Champions of Oliver Wyman (connus sous le nom de GROW) sont des bénévoles qui servent d'ambassadeurs de notre engagement dans chaque bureau et répondent à tous les besoins locaux, qu'il s'agisse d'améliorer la visibilité de ces actions, de trouver des speakers pour animer des ateliers de sensibilisation ou d'organiser des campagnes d’aide au nettoyage de certaines zones.
